Terry D. Peterson president

Terry is an attorney, licensed to practice law in Washington and Oregon. In addition to serving as our firm's president, Terry also functions as one of our staff attorneys, representing employers in workers' compensation, Department employment services and WISHA litigation. In addition to his litigation work, Terry is also an on-call resource to our claim staff and our clients.

Terry is actively involved in the workers' compensation arena. He is a member of the Washington Self-Insurer's legal committee and the AWB Workers' Compensation Coalition committee. He is currently serving on the Department of Labor & Industries' vocational redesign committee. For his work on the redesign of the vocational rehabilitation statute in 2007, he was a recipient of the AWB Heavy Lifter Award. Terry also received that award in 2000 for his work on vocational services reform.

From 1989 to 1993 Terry was employed as vice president, general manager and general counsel of Maxson Young Risk Management Services. Prior to his return to the Seattle area, Terry was employed as staff counsel at the Oregon Workers' Compensation Board and as an associate attorney with a Portland Oregon workers' compensation defense firm. Prior to becoming an attorney, Terry was the Portland branch manager of an insurance claims investigation firm. Terry received a Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in Portland Oregon in 1987 and a BS in accounting from Brigham Young University in 1981.
