Claims Management / Protocol

Comprehensive Risk Management takes a proactive approach to claims management. This approach results in effective cost containment by achieving appropriate claim resolution in the shortest time possible.

Claims Set-Up

Our internal audit standards require claims set up within three days of our receipt of the claim. Usually, however, a claim is set up the day it is received, particularly if it is a time loss claim. Effective cost containment is achieved through early contact with the injured worker, doctor, employer and any other parties that may be involved in the process. That way an effective action plan can be developed. Claims personnel map out the solution to the claim at the time of initial processing and review the claim at each diary date to be certain the solution is kept in sight. At the time the claim is set up in our system, our claims administrators immediately reserve the claim. Obviously, in order to come up with an accurate reserve that avoids future stair stepping an immediate and careful evaluation of the claims necessary at the time the claim is set up. This early assessment of your exposure also ensures that a roadmap is clearly laid out that leads to a successful conclusion to the claim.
